About this case study:

Brief
Teesside University requires specialised fume extraction systems and LEV extraction arms to store heavy equipment and materials inside their new Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre. The units must be two meters wide with ducting and be built from polypropylene.
Solution
We designed and delivered eleven ducted walk-in fume cupboards, all built from virgin medical-grade welded polypropylene. Each cabinet measured two metres in length and featured a combination of gas taps, plug sockets and sinks tailored to the client's specifications.
Outcome
The cabinets look exceptional and provide Teesside University with the facilities and tools they need to support their equipment. The third-party installed ducting and VAV system reduced energy consumption, while the polypropylene reduces corrosion and maximises product longevity.
Summary
This project highlights the sustainable properties of polypropylene and its suitability for a state-of-the-art Net Zero Industry Innovation Centre. The final products were designed and delivered as requested, with minimal disruption to the client's busy schedule.

Walk-in Fume Cupboards

Our walk-in fume cupboards are 100% bespoke because of the specialist nature of their use. They are the perfect choice for facilities that need to protect operators using substantial and weighty equipment, which is too large for benchtop cabinets.
